SSD Showcases

SSD put on their inhouse FULL School Showcase every third year, dancing around a central theme, all students are invited to perform at the Rose Theatre in Eastleigh (Barton Peveril College). The showcases feature a colourful presentation of Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Street Dance.

In addition to this we also run an ‘End of Year’ Celebratory showcase and Awards PResentation each December, which highlights individual achievements from the year including; Festival Squad News, Exam Work, Audition Pieces and of course the Presentation of Awards, Medals and Certificates, which award a number of students for their efforts and achievements within their classes. 

We have a busy schedule of shows and events as listed below;


December 2022

Our Annual Awards Evening will be back at Barton Peveril on Sunday 5th December at 5pm

The event will celebrate our Festival, Exam, and Performance achievements of the year. Award presentations will include; Certificates of Attendance, Medals of Dedication, Star Awards, Trophies for Effort and Achievement in each genre plus we will crown this years ‘Students Choice for Inspiration’ and ‘Dancer of the Year’ winners.

April 2023

‘Dancing Around the World’ will be SSD’s next inhouse production. Our dancers will take you on a journey around the world from Mexico to Madagascar, America to Australia and beyond. The show will feature a cast of over 70 performers from 3yrs to adult, all students will be invited to perform in this colourful mix of dance talent produced solely by SSD.

Rehearsals: We will run two full school rehearsals in February and March (Sundays)

Tech: On stage Tech and Dress and full run will take place on Saturday 1st April (times TBC)

Showtimes – Sunday 2nd April  – 1pm and 6pm

Casting: Students will perform 1 routine for each class that they study, List of countries per class are as follows;

We will also have guest performers from Breeze Academy, who will share routines representing Australia and Wales.
