Ballet Conditioning

Ballet Conditioning

SSD offer Ballet Conditioning as an optional additional training class for students studying Classical Ballet.

Classes run for half an hour in the first levels and build up to 45minutes in the upper levels. Classes are structured to train our dancers technique, with exercises to help build on strength in the core, upper back, legs and feet. They help to adapt posture and alignment and work the hip flexes to improve turnout and flexibility whilst also improving balance and control. Classes follow a mix of the Australian PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) syllabus and the ISTD TBT (Training Ballet Technique) syllabus.

Ballet Conditioning is paramount to a dancers technical training. Students who wish to attend full time vocational training will need to study these classes in order to develop to the highest standards required.

In order to study these classes students will be required to purchase a number of specialist items, for their level. These items are listed under the Uniform section of the info page. Any items NOT listed will be supplied by the dance school. All items will be taken through the levels, and added to as they progress.
